Terms of use
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Hush Crush, run by [Your full name], a sole trader in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By using the Hush Crush app you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.
1. Who can use Hush Crush
- You must be 18 or over.
- You must use your own phone and a genuine name or nickname. Don't pretend to be someone else.
- You can't use Hush Crush if we've previously removed you from it.
2. How it works
When you scan a venue's Hush Crush QR code, you get a number for that night. Other guests can send a message to your number, and you can send messages to theirs. Messages are usually delivered after the venue closes. If you both say yes, you can chat and call in the app. Limits apply, such as how many people and messages you can send each night, and we may change them to keep the app fair.
3. Be kind: the community rules
Hush Crush is built for people who find it hard to say hi. Keep it a safe, respectful place. You must not:
- harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone, or keep contacting someone who hasn't replied or has said no;
- send sexual, hateful, discriminatory or abusive messages or photos;
- upload a headshot that isn't of you, or include anyone else;
- use Hush Crush to sell things, advertise, scam people or ask for money;
- share other people's messages, photos or personal details outside the app without their permission;
- try to get around blocks, limits, filters or our safety features;
- break the law.
If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, use Block or Report in the app. If you're ever in danger, call 999.
4. Meeting people safely
We don't run background checks on users, and we can't guarantee how anyone will behave. If you meet someone, meet in a busy public place, tell a friend where you're going, and arrange your own way home. You're responsible for your own decisions when meeting people.
5. Your content
You own the messages and photos you send. You give us permission to store and deliver them so the app works. You're responsible for what you send, and we may remove content or accounts that break these rules.
6. Venues
Venues that host Hush Crush nights are independent businesses. We're not responsible for the venue, its staff, its events or anything that happens there.
7. Suspending or closing accounts
We may warn, suspend or remove anyone who breaks these terms or puts others at risk, sometimes without notice. You can stop using Hush Crush at any time and ask us to delete your account (see our privacy policy).
8. The app itself
We work hard to keep Hush Crush running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that you'll meet anyone. We may change or stop features. If we make big changes to these terms, we'll tell you in the app.
9. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for the behaviour of other users or venues, or for losses that weren't foreseeable.
10. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
